This vegan Hazelnut and Date Breakfast Smoothie is one of the best. It has lots of healthy carbs giving you a slow release of energy to keep your pecker up. It has protein from the hazelnut butter and the cacao too, to help keep you fuller for longer.
Best of all, it tastes amazing, like the best milk shake you ever dared dream of as a kid but without any added sugar or artificial flavourings. You can make this in a heartbeat when you need it or whizz it up at bedtime and pop it in a jar or some tupperware in the fridge. All ingredients for this vegan Hazelnut and Date Breakfast Smoothie came from the fantastic new Ocado vegetarian range.
- 2 tablespoons natural date syrup
- 1 heaped tablespoon hazelnut butter
- 2 tablespoons rolled oats
- 2 teaspoons cacao
- 500ml plant or rice milk (I used almond milk)
- 1 frozen banana (or just a banana if you're leaving it in the fridge overnight)
- Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
